Knitting needles! Arrgh! Usually I lose my scissors (which I found while look for my needles). Why did I have to loose those needles just when I am about to sit down and make something!?!?

Doesn't that just drive you mad when you can't find the crafty tool right when you need it?

I swear, I'd loose my head if it weren't attached.

Objects do that all the time.  They wait for us to announce that we've lost them, then suddenly reappear.  That's why we so often say "Where's the- there it is!"

Have you ever seen the tv show sliders?  I'm quite convinced I'm a natural one, because several times I seem to slip into a parallel world where everything is exactly the same except one missing item.  Then, before you know it, I slip into another world where the item exists in a place I've already looked!   Grin

Isn't that just so frustrating?  Even worse is when you put your knitting down, and when you come back to it, the needle that isn't holding your project has vanished.

It sounds silly, but this often works for me.  I call the missing item - like you'd call a dog or cat.  "Here, needles!  Heeeeere, needles!  Psst psst psst psst psst!  I have some nice yummy yarn for you!"  Cheesy

When you say "works" for you, do you mean that you find them, or that they actually come running?   Tongue

I wish they would come running...

Of course, if you call a cat, the cat usually doesn't come running either.   Tongue

I do that all the time. I'll stuff my project into my drawer (that's already full of stuff), and when I open it up again to retrieve it, the project is there, but the needles or hook have slipped out into the mess, making it so hard to find it.

Sliders is only the latest version of this theory. there was a Saturday moring show years back called Erie Indiana. Sort of a Twighlight Zone but not as scary.

In Erie, the is a Bureau of the Lost. their job is to lose things for you. These guys in orange jumpsiuts would walk through a house unnoticed & pick up keys or a single shoe & put it someplace else...

So when I lose something I call the Bureau of the Lost and complain!
