Wow that's beautiful! When I saw it in knitty it just didn't seem my style, but your version is so ... I don't know, silky? It just seems much nicer to wear, I guess. Totally excellent "going out" top - and now I need to make one. Great job!

I had the same experience with the gauge thing - I'm working on a size smaller needles - started with a 1x which is what I need for measurements, ended up frogging the whole thing and working the stitches for a small - go figure!
You too? It makes no sense! The measurements for the XS (which is what I made) were waaaay too small for me, and yet it fits. I guess negative ease is a Good Thing.

I thought the same thing when I saw the Knitty pic - cute, but not really my style. Then I kept seeing everyone's FOs that looked great. This was the one that finally pushed it into the "must make" pile for me.
