I've been meaning to hop on the microslide pendant bandwagon for some time now.  I've been busy lately trying to put together new and interesting things for a *possible* portfolio.  Hopefully this will make a good addition!

I love vintage illustrations.  Every few months I go on a splurge on kids books at thrift stores and yard sales.  I get home as quickly as I can and start cutting out the really cool/quirky drawings.

Getting the knack of soldering only took about an hour.  It's attaching the jump ring that makes me crazy.  I burned my fingertips so many times last night.  I would completely heat up a ring and grab it up a few seconds later without thinking.

Oh, and I must say thank you to alycimo for the tutorial

Here's some of the stuff that I came up with:

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.

Oeh... I think I spot some of Mucha's art. I love his work. A great way to show it too by wearing it.  Cheesy

Thanks everyone!  They're lots of fun to make (well, until the end anyway).

You're right!  I found a book of postcards at a yard sale last year and I felt like this was the perfect project for them!
