Me again.., thought I'd share the easiest and quickest scarf I've ever made. It's done lengthways with double crochet ( ...I think you call it), to get the stripes to go in that direction.  Used a no. 9 hook and some chunky soft wool. What took the longest was the tassels!
So even if all you know is one type of stitch (...) you can still create something comfy and useful!

So cute and so retro!  Would look great with a corduroy jacket.

Mary wished to say something very sensible, but knew not how.

scandibird-- how did you get the tassels soooo fluffy?  I dig that with the skinniness of the scarf.  Rad.

Thanks all! Ok, so tassels... I'm no yarn expert, (and my crochet terminology in English sucks...) but the yarn I used was 100% wool and really soft and fluffy anyway, and then I made the tassels extra thick, like this: (with plenty of yarn, not just the one string...)

And, I started with a loooong chained string as long as I wanted the scarf. The rest I really wouldn't be able to write down in any way that would make any sense, (I'm more of a 'come here 'n I'll show you' kinda gal...) so if anyone else would like to, feel free!!  Cheesy

Great!  I just taught myself to do some of the more complicated stitches in crochet (like more complex than chain! - as I am primarily a knitter)!  I will get to this scarf pronto!  After about 3 or 4 other projects, of course!
