Knapsack for my nephew

My nephew always brings an armful of toys over to our house when his visiting, so I decided to make him a knapsack. I found the pattern on Martha Stuart - the pattern calls for nylon because its a "beach tote", but since we're no where near a beach, I just used cotton for the lining.

The pattern is called "duck duck goose" - he picked it out himself.

He LOVED watching me sew it - At first he was a little confused as to how it would go from fabric from the store to a knapsack (which he called a purse a few times- he hasn't quite learned the correct gender terms LOL). It was a lot of fun!

Very cute, the pattern is so sweet. It would make a cute pool bag also, even without the nylon.

Oh, that is so cute!  My little brother carried many "purses" also.  I guess that's what happens when you grow up with 3 sisters!  (He loves me telling that story, now-  he's a big bad army man!)
