Rattlesnake? Jingle Snake???

May I present, Iggy, the i-cord reptile, sunning himself on my front steps:



He's got little Indian brass bells for his rattle...and his tongue is huge, which is probably why his mouth is so wide open (that's what I get for using random scraps of yarn, even when I know they're not the right weight)...oh, and the yarn is 100% acrylic Bernat in the camouflage colorway.

I love that he has rattlers. That is too cute. And the Bernat camo looks great how it striped, I thought you'd planned that out with a bunch of different colors.

I've been obsessed with googly eyes lately, and this is probably the most traditional use I've made of them.

& I'm really happy with the stripe effect - and waaaay to lazy to plan out stripes like that, but I'm thinking about stash diving for left over sock yarn to make Iggy some buddies.

How did you make the head?  Did you just increase a few stitches?

I think a pastel snake would be great! And for the head, yeah, I just placed increased at the edges, and when I got to 6 stitches (I think) I worked the top & bottom of the head flat so I'd have a mouth opening and decreased back down to 2 or 3 stitches. Nothing exact, but pretty easy to figure out.
