So the other day I saw a bunch of nitrous oxide canisters, the kind used to make whipped cream at home (the kind I found were by a brand called ISI but looking on ebay there are other brands that yield the same basic shape and are different colors like silver or blue) ... I thought they looked really neat and that they would make a great belt. I had a cloth belt that I had detached from an old military trench coat I found at a thrift store a few years ago and then hot glued all the empty canisters to the belt in that bullet belt style... this took all of an hour or so. I play to run fabric loops across the canisters at some point as well.

I'm calling it my tank girl belt because it reminds me of her... I kind of like the violet on olive green but if I make more I think I'll experiment with spray painting the canisters or something. This only took like half an hour

i like your tank girl belt too! Way to re-con. You could even make them out to be bombs, & write lil' sayings on the side like WWII. "greetings from above" and all that lot.
My eyes went to your butt, THAT PATCH! I WANT A CARTOONY X PATCH!!! I recognized Exene & john doe immediately. Please tell me you made it and I can do a swap-a-roo with you.  I went to comic-con three years ago & got Jamie Hernandez to sign a poster they did for an X show.
sorry to tangent off on your posting. I do like the belt

aw i wish i could say i made it and i'd definitely do a swap but i actually bought it at a shop in town for a buck twenty five a couple weeks ago! i looked on angryyoungandpoor.com and interpunk.com to see if either of them carried it but i didn't see it

and thanks! those are kind of fun ideas! i am thinking of making more belts to sell at head shops but ones you could put full canisters in...
