Hiya everyone  Smiley
Geez I hope I am posting this in the right place, if not, I'm sorry XD

Only my third post here, and this time its a Jewerly Holder! It's made of a wooden frame (only like .97 cents XD), wooden skewers, and wooden chopsticks. Specifically made for my earrings  Wink The dangling ones goes on the two skinny skewers and the studs go in the center of the frame with the fabric and padding. Although sometimes I will put my rings or pins on the sides for decoration lol.

This project was inspired by a few things:
1)  Almost finishing the novel Memoirs of a Geisha
2) A Geisha Swap Item: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=88155.msg870911#msg870911
3) My love for Final Fantasy video games and Tetsuya Nomura's (the illustrator for many FF videogames) character and costume design. I didn't wanna put a regular kimono because I wanted something that showed something that related to me. Originally I was gonna put a japanese school girl outfit (a fuku) since I do wear a uniform to school XD But then I was like nah  Grin So I based my design on Yuna who coincidentally had a very modern, chopped up, funky yet still very sweet version of a kimono. But mine is much more simpler and not as nice looking XD

Here is the link to Yuna's costume design:

Now on to the photo's!

Oh and here is my original jewerly holder. It served very well, however it took up too much space and kept dropping my earrings because I didn't attatch the ribbons tight enough lol  Tongue

Very cute and functional.  I like the colors.

Oh my gosh, that's so cute!  Cheesy

I love the little kimono; I've been trying to come up with a bajillion tiny dress forms to hang my jewelry on, and all of them I find are too kitschy and lacy.. That's so perfect!

Sweet Idea! Definately hitting this rocks.

duct tape is like the force. There's a light side, and a dark side, and it binds the universe together.
