Ok so inspiring craftsters have me going crazy
trying my hand at everything there is to do here lol
and this is my crochet attempt
I followed the Lavender bunny pattern here
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=162955.0bunny
and here is what came out

But I notice that my stitches look different from the original bunny
and other crochet things so I am wondering what am I doing wrong
can someone help me fix it. I used red heart worsted weight yarn
and it looks like i used hemp or rope.

any advice welcomed
comments loved
thanks

It looks great to me!  When I did that pattern I had to modify some of the stitches & things so I wouldn't worry about it being slightly different, if you ask me it should look different because it was made by you!  Great job!

Thanks so much I appreciate it MrsGraves
My thing with the way the stitching looks
is that maybe I'm doing it backwards
or too tight or something.

It looks to me as if you've been inserting your hook under only the back leg of the stitch, rather than both legs.

I think it's an adorable little bunny. Smiley

I was just about to say that, which is what I had been doing for months until I got the Happy Hooker book and realized that's NOT what I was supposed to be doing, haha.  But I still do it that way from time to time, I actually can't decide which way I like better when it comes to stuffed animals Smiley

Oh, I'm going to try this pattern for sure, now.  She looks great and I love the field poses.  I think how_german and MrsGraves might be right about how you are getting the ridges.  For a smoother look you should have two bars on your hook after inserting it to make your next sc and then you yarn over and go through both those two to complete the stitch.  Either way, I think she's a cutie.

If you are going into the back loop only don't forget how to do that.  Alot of patterns will have you do this on purpose.  It's especially good for making a crisper edge on things like flat top hats or flat bottomed dolls etc.

I agree I think the stitches look different because you've been crocheting in the back loop of the stitch and not both of the loops. Grin

Cheesy I love your bunny! Cheesy

I think the texture of the ami looks great. When I first started crocheting, I made the same mistake of crocheting in the back loops only. Smiley
