I think if we specify yarn weight (perhaps more precisely, gauge) and length, the socks should feel similar enough not to bother anyone.

"Gauge" you say...? What is this "gauge" of which you speak...?! Wink

It's a nifty bit of magic that I've often heard about, but is rarely actually seen. Perhaps it's like a thestral and I need to see someone die before witnessing it myself. Wink

I think its more of a myth. I would be able to see thestrals and still no hint of this "gauge". Smiley

The turn of this conversation makes me happy.  So I'm not the only one.....

Is this a dirty little secret of the knitting industry?  Perhaps there is actually no way to obtain (and especially keep) a gauge, and it is just marked on patterns to frustrate us and make us buy more needles and/or yarn in a desperate attempt to get it.  Hmmm....

Him: I think we've been on the same page for a while now.
Me: What if we're on the same page, but in different books?

Yes...socks...right ...

Anyway, I'm going to open sign-ups on the weekend.

How much crafting time do people want? Would a month be long enough?

I think I'd need a little more than a month, I'm starting classes during the crafting period and might need some extra time depending on how busy I get.

Maybe 6 weeks?

This is oh-so-tempting! I keep thinking that I won't really have enough time but then I think thats its only one single solitary sock. With a longer crafting time, I might just be able to put it off. I definitely vote for 6wks
