A literary referance and reticulation project I made a few months back. If anybody had told me how difficult it would be to solder reticulated silver on to a wire, I woulden't have done it. But I did anyway, and what followed was many hours of swearing.

Anyway, it's made of silver, nickle, steel, moonstone and quartz chips, and some ribbon. It's not the tidiest piece of work I've done, but it was basically one big experiment and I think it worked out OK.

For the curious, the book I chose for the literary referance was Terry Pratchett's Wintersmith.

A shot of just the piece- the photo's a bit on the yellow side, unfortunatley.

And an action shot, demonstrating how it's worn. Head thoughtfully donated by a good friend of mine.

Really, really gorgeous!  (And that was sweet of you tasi292, you're right, it deserves the attention!)  Amazing job on the piece, I can tell you put a ton of work into it. I hope you find a lot of excuses to wear it around!

Absolutley read the book! it's quite a loose interpretation, but Terry Pratchett is a fantastic author.

Sadly, the piece hasn't seen action yet. It's a little difficult to get it anchored properly and I haven't had occasion to wear it. A friend of my mother's is playing with the idea of wearing it for her wedding, though, which would be cool.

On the plus side, I pretty much have an instant halloween costume.

And, if not, I can always wear it to artawareness next year.
