I made this for my partner who can't sleep unless its totally dark. It's made out of cotton so its comfortable at night and doesn't make her too warm.

I think there is loads of mileage here... I am thinking frogs eyes, people eyes, maybe even boobs or a bum!!!!

Its just a couple of rows of single crochet then two fans and circles for the eyes, really simple.

Wow thanks for being so supportive with this!!! Here is the pattern:

*******************************
Step 1: Chain 39 stitches

Step 2: Use one as the original turning stitch then single crochet 10 lines of 38 stitches.

Step 3: Cast off the crochet.

Step 4: Start crocheting again in the 8th stitch from the edge.
from this position fan stitch 7 single crochets into the 9th stitch (or however many it needs to make a semicircle)

Step 5: Once this is done single crochet round the fan being careful to anchor each line into the main rectangle so it makes a joint up fabric. (It took me 7 lines of singe crochet until the end of the semi circle met up with the end of the base rectangle.)

Step 6: Repeat this on the other side. (It should leave a nose sized gap in the middle)

Step 7: Crochet round the entire mask in a contrasting color to hold everything together and give it a nice edge.

Optional Extras (Owl)

Step 1 : The eyes are just a crocheted circle ending up with 42 stitches, I then did one round in brown and the next in white with 6 picot stitches to create a ruffle. The inside of the eye is just a loosely embroidered diamond.

Step 2: The beak is made from ten single crochet stitches which are naturally reduced by not using a turning stitch. I then crocheted once around the triangle to give it a nice finish.

Step 3:  Sew everything up!

Become a night time owl!!!!!!!!!!!!

RAAAARAH!

I think this is cute-I've always been an owl fan, but I'm wondering how it would be to sleep with boobs or a bum on my face! Cheesy

That is too funny! I love it! Cheesy I too see where this could go....frog, spider (Grin), cat, etc!
I think I'll have to make me one! I have a problem sleeping during thunderstorms because of the light show....but I still haven't made myself a mask!
