Let me know if anyone does it, any pic ideas, and how it turned out.  Also let me know if I should move this.  I am such a newbie!

Hey Pearlie, here's the link to a topic posted over in housewares.  There's a lot of great ideas and suggestions there!

THis is the awesomest thing that i have seen in the past four days.  Five days ago, I saw my friend eat a lightbulb and this doesn't top that, but it almost does.  I'm getting a television just so I can make one of these

That is sweet! I saw something like that but it isn't and object, it's just like a DVD thingee or something that is really expensive and stewpid. I like your idea WAY better, and it's just so simple and stuff. Good jorb!

i totally made one of these tonight and it is AWESOME. it's so cool to just leave the TV on mute with the pixalator in place. it's like a lava lamp.

the only thing i did differently is i cut the rolls into fourths, so the pixalator is thinner. and the frame is only a thin piece of cardboard. i also used paper instead of fabric. cha:

i just propped it up against the TV for the picture, so it's not covering the whole screen, but you get the idea:

so thanks for the great idea!!! i highly reccomend this project to anyone because it's just so cool and easy, y'all...just...just do it.

Thanks so much for this great idea!  It is so easy and so very cool!

I saw this thread tonight and I had to make one!  It turned out great.

In case anyone cares how I did it...  I used poster paper instead of the toilet paper rolls.  I cut it into 6" x 2.5" pieces and rolled them up and taped them with scotch tape.  Then I cut the top off the cover of a box that held copier paper, leaving the sides.  I reinforced the corners, covered it with 2 layers of wax paper, taped on a couple strips of poster paper so I could hang it (with tape) on the TV, and put the "rolls" in there.  It looks so damn sweet!

I'm gonna make one for a friend, and I think I'll make the tubes a little smaller (6" comes out to about 2" diameter), and that's probably the only change I'll make.  Perhaps just one layer of wax paper, but that was the easy part.  Taping up all the little tubes was a pain, but well worth it!

I'll try to post a picture or two soon.  Thanks again for the idea(s)!

Soon everyone will be watching Pixalators instead of TV!!  YAY!!

I've just collected enough rolls to make one for my new house..  Can't wait..

Do like the idea of cutting them into 1/4 or even 1/2 less rolls & less bulk in front of the TV..  I may even have enough rolls for 2 Pixalators!!

mine took like 17 t.p. rolls to make, cutting them each into four. just for your info.
