Does anyone else think that crafting is great and all, but it is severely eating up space in their tiny apartments?  It is terrible, lately I dont throw away anything, this site is haunting me!(in a good way)  My boyfriend thinks I am crazy for keeping everything, but everything I come across i find a hypothetical use for!  Egads, this is getting bad.....  What is your worst packratting tendancy?  Mine right nowis fabric and yarn, I have a stockpile right now that could provide me with a wardrobe for the rest of my life.  I cant even get rid of my old clothes becasue I see so much potential in them! Helllllp!

I keep all the bottles from my prescriptions. That's at least 2 a month, for several years...

I know exactly what you mean my house is destroyed and full of crafting, I always knew that I was the girl that kept everything and that I have tons of stuff, but if you take away the clothes, shoes, and crafting things I'm empty.
I keep bottle caps, yarn, fabric, soy milk containers, old books, random containers, old lampshades, cardboard, and more.... I haven't made anything (other than knitted) in weeks because I can move in the rooms.

My worst packrat tendancy is saving fashion magazines. I especially cannot part with the fall issues which are usually a couple inches thick and the November & December issues. The photography is so beautiful and I want to make notecards out of the pages *someday*. They take up a lot of room, and are a total burden when we move!

Since I saw that soda can tab bracelet here on Craftster I have started saving tabs and my husband thinks I have gone nuts!

Cheesy  I'm saving everything too!  I have baby food jars from over three years ago, laundry soap bottles, printed instructions and patterns from the internet (four big binders full  Cheesy ) and numerous other things!   Wink  My husband would love to get rid of all my old magazines and I'm pretty sure most of my "craft corner".   Grin

Ha ha...I started cleaning out my room, but every time I was about to throw something out, I would think "Hey, that would be great for ____" and now I have a huge cardboard box in a corner of my room overflowing onto the floor with all sorts of things.  I think it is mostly clothes I stole when I was cleaning out m dad's closet for him (soooo many awesome t-shirts and cute button downs to resize!).  However, I am cleaning out my yarn piles by knitting a random practice scarf out of all my extra bits.  Despite all the stuff I have (in addition to the box, there is a closet and a huge cupboard full of craft supplies) I still find myself needing to buy things or wanting junk I don't have.  (Like an old keyboard to take apart, and felt)

Oh my goodness! I save fashion magazines too! I thought that I was the only one in the world. It's getting out of hand because I have an entire(somewhat small) bookcase full of magazines. It's kind of sick really. I keep on thinking that I'll use them for a craft but I've only used them a couple of them.

I have a packrat problems with everything though. I can't get rid of stuffed animals or clothing. I need to join a PA meeting...do those exist? Maybe we should start one. Also, I have throne out things and then found a way to use them later which only fuels this habit. I need to transition out of this obsession. One day...one day.

Oh, gosh.  Stupid, evil, glorious, wonderful art.  I keep swearing that I'm going to just use up all my supplies and then stop doing art.  And then I have the next great idea, which requires just a little bit of wire, but who can go to a [random craft store] and get only what they went in for?

I'm pretty vicious in terms of getting rid of stuff that I'm not currently using, but since I usually have about fourteen billion projects in process or on the docket, that doesn't really help.  But eventually I will use them all up, and I will be surrounded by beautiful things (and people to whom I've given beautiful things).

My packratting weakness?  Containers.  Pretty ones, or nice shapes.  Bags, boxes, purses.  Clementine crates.  Tins.

I too have some sort of emotional barrier stopping me from throwing things out.

Once upon a time, my father wanted to throw out a pair of my younger brother's worn out chicken feet slippers. Of course, my like-minded hoarder mother and I stopped him.
Three days later, my brother has been cast for a school production...
As a chicken.
The moral of the story is keep everything. It might come in handy eventually. Or it might not...

hhahahaha.  me too.
i keep all of my fabric scraps (i have like 3 or 4 shopping bags FULL), cardboard boxes (they are EVERYWHERE.  apparently they make excellent cat beds), stickers of any kind....the list goes on.  the saddest part is that i've been this way since childhood, so i don't think it will ever go away.
