I was wondering if anyone had a recipe for making pulp out of blue jeans/denim.  I tried to find a recipe online, but have not had any luck.  I have a basic knowledge of the process, but need to find some specifics.

From what research I have done, I know I have to:
 - cut/tear the jeans into small (~ 1 in.) squares
 - soak the torn jeans in vinegar (?)
 - boil the jeans
 - beat them into a pulp with a mallet or other tool (what do you use?)
 - make a finer pulp by putting it into a blender for a couple minutes (?)

What else?

I remember that there was a Reading Rainbow episode about the  process you are mentioning. Maybe if you ask them they may have the records on file. This same episode showed how you can use old blue jeans as insulation. They tend to be exceptionally good about answering e-mails.

Carol Duvall can help.  If the link below doesn't work, go to the HGTV website, then to Carol Duvall, then search for Denim Paper Pins.  Or search for episode CDS-1607.
