It's supposed to be an owl... but it looks a little wonky.  I adapted a pattern from Knitted Toys by Zoe Mellor.  Her pattern didn't have stripes, but I wanted stripes.  She also didn't have eyes on the pattern-- they were supposed to be sewed on as felt at the end, but I didn't want to do that... so I made up a pattern for the eyes.  This was for a swap.  Water bottle included to indicate how large it was.  This was my first experiment with intarsia, as well as duplicate stitching.  What an adventure!!  Yes, I know it looks like a cat.  I was too tired to make wings.

That's super cute!  It could put on a one-person show of the old nursery rhyme The Owl and the Pussycat.

Awesome owl!  When I first saw it, I thought it was a creative totoro.  Here are a couple of totoros for reference:

I watched the movie "My Neighbor Totoro" two times with my daughter today, so I had totoros on the brain!  Smiley

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.
