Going to head down from Minneapolis, MN in a few days to Orlando for a week and was wondering what to do that isn't tourist-y. Arts, theater, gardens, and esp craft stuff. Any ideas or heads up would be greatly appreciated!

We have the Leu Gardens, Orlando museum of art and I would check out the Bob Carr center to see if there are any plays going on! I believe opera and ballet season are over however. I live downtown so these are what I know to do that are fun and  close to me! *I'm a transplant here from Canada so I don't know EVERYTHING about the city* Oh also there is the science museum! All of those are within a mile or so of eachother as well! If you need tips on any restaurants or anything let me know! I'm in the service industry and know lots of good eats....
Good Luck!

I would suggest you pick up an Orlando Weekly once you are down here. They are the free weekly paper available at many local restaurants and shops, should be easy to find, but if you have trouble hit up a coffeeshop or something. Anyway, then you can look up all the current events going on, to check listings for shows, plays, and whatever else.

I don't really go to Orlando in search of crafts,so I can't help there but I do love Downtown Disney! It's just a bunch of (expensive) shops but they are really fun to go look in. If you go,be sure to go in the store that has all the movie memoribilia...it's freakin awesome.
