Just finished making this seahorse.  His name is John the Womack, and he wishes he were a puppy!!!





here is his pattern:

Materials:

size G hook,  ww yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft), google eyes, buttons, fun fur ( I used Lion Brand Fun Fur)

Head:

With ww yarn, 6 sc in ring.

rd 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)

rd 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc around (18 sc)

rd 3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc around (24 sc)

rd 4 & 5: (add fun fur) sc in each sc around (24 sc)

rd 6: (drop fun fur) 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc around (30 sc)

rd 7-9: sc in each sc around (30 sc)

rd 10 & 11: (add fun fur), sc in each sc around (30 sc)

rd 12 & 13: (drop fun fur) sc in each sc around (30 sc)

rd 14: decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc around (24 sc)

rd 15: decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc around (18 sc)

rd 16: decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next sc around (12 sc). Fasten off.

Note: I switched to a size H hook for the fun fur rounds, sew the button nose on anytime before rd 15, stuff head.

Body:

6 sc in ring

rd1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)

rd2:  2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc around (18 sc)

rd3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc around (24 sc)

rd4: sc in each sc around (24 sc)

rd5: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc around (30 sc)

rd6: sc in each sc around (30 sc)

rd7:  2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc around (36 sc)

rds 8-10: sc in each sc around (36 sc)

rd11:  decrease 1 sc in first 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc around (30 sc)

rd12-13: sc in each sc around (30 sc)

rd14: decrease 1 sc in first 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc around (24 sc)

rd15: sc in each sc around (24 sc)

rd16: decrease 1 sc in first 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc around (18 sc)

rd17: decrease 1 sc in first 2 sc, sc in next sc around (12 sc)

rds 18-21: sc in each sc around (12 sc)

fasten off.

Note: Stuff body

Tail:

5 sc in ring

rd 1: 2 sc in each sc around (10 sc)

rd2:  2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc around (15 sc)

rd3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc around (20 sc), chain 1, turn

rw 1: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc (7 sc) , chain 3, turn.

rw 2: tr in same tch-space, 2 tr in each sc across ( 14 tr)

rw 3: (add fun fur), chain 1, turn, sc in each tr across ( 14 sc)

rw 4: (drop blue yarn, fun fur only)  *chain 15, sc in next sc *  repeat * to * across. fasten off after last sc.

Fins (make 2)

chain 4

rw 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and each across (4 sc), chain 1, turn.

rw2-5: sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

rw 6: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc. Fasten off.

 Ears (make 2):

chain 7

rw 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook and each across (6 sc), chain 1, turn.

rw 2: sc in next 5 sc across, sl st in last sc. chain 1, turn.

rw 3: skip 1st sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in last 3 sc. chain 1, turn.

rw 4: sc in next 3 sc, sl st in next sc, chain 1, turn.

rw 5: sl st in next 3 sc, fasten off.

Finishing:

Sew button to round on tail, sew tail on back of body.

Sew fins to sides of body.

Sew ears to top of head.

Sew head to the body.

Glue eyeball on between the fun fur rounds.
