How did you drill a hole it in? Just with a normal drill?

Also, has anyone tried using a grill to melt the beads?

This tutorial has been pinned for a very long time but my daughter and I finally had a craft day over the weekend and I decided to finally try this out. My daughter had a blast! We made three but only took pictures of two. The third is nothing but glitter beads and looks the best. One for the neighbor, teacher and then one for home. We're going to use them as a spoon rest in the kitchen...I hope that is safe, I don't see why not. I guess I'll let you all know in a few months if one of us develops some strange abnormalities? Either way, the smell wasn't HORRIBLE. I turned the fan on over the oven and opened the back door to air it out and it wasn't a horrible lingering smell that lasted for hours. We'll be making more of these!

I took my toaster over into the garage. It worked great and no bed smell in the house!

hi! i really want to try these but i have to know if the melting plastic made your house smell?

need to make about a dozen of these. wondering about putting them in metal cookie cutters (shaped like christmas tree) on a cookie sheet. would they stick, ya think? poke hanging holes while still warm?

I've done the cookie cutter thing!  works like a charm. Once the plastic starts to cool it shrinks a bit and comes right away from the cutter.  and then just dremel a small hole!
