Went to my local thrift shop and picked up a couple of shirts. I was also in need of a bikini for the summer season. So put the two together and here it is...

the front...

back...

and detail!

so what do you think? still don't have a bottom... any suggestions?

UPDATE:

Thank you guys so much for all of your amazing comments!

I've gotten a few requests for a tutorial, so here it is...

The measurements for this pattern are for someone sized medium, but adjustments may be needed for personal sizing.

If you have any questions, feel free to message and if you make your own I would love to see your creations! Enjoy!

It looks really great!  I like how you could also tie the top strings around your back so it would be strapless...

I've found that a really good way to make bikini bottoms is to trace a pattern from a pair of underwear that you like the fit of.  I also think that top would look really good with a pair of hot shorts!!  I think there's a tutorial for them here on Craftster somewhere.

ooo i love this! i hate how you have to pay separately for bikini tops and bottoms.. so i found this tute on threadbanger (but i like your top so much better!)

http://www.threadbanger.com/post/999/how-to-make-a-hot-bikini-out-of-old-t-shirts

it shows you how to make a basic bikini top and bottom out of tshirts.
how many tshirts did you actually use? tute please! (:

That Threadbanger bikini is cute, now if only I was daring enough to wear something like that...
