This guy was developed from knitting my daughter 'Cheese' from Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends. (which I posted on the forum)
As usual, I knitted him as I went, without writing the pattern down, so I developed this guy for my son who wanted one too.

Knit in DK or aran yarn, on DPNs, any size between 3.5 mm and 4.5mm (smaller is better for stuffing). The original cheese was made in aran weight Jaeger, not sure what size needles..

You need:

Lime DK for body
White DK for eyes
Small amount of purple yarn for pupils
Small amount of teal for mouth

5 DPNs
pair of 2.5mm needles (for making eyeballs)
toy stuffing

BODY

C/on 6st in main colour, divide between 3 dpns, 2 st on each needle.
Join and knit 2 rows.
Next row, inc1,k1,inc1,k1 on each dpn.
Next row, knit.
Rep last 2 rows until 12st on each dpn.
next row, knit.
Next row, start to decrease-each needle- k2tog, k1, to last 2 st, k2tog. Rep on each needle.
Next row, knit.
(Start to stuff some of the body, but not too much).
Rep last 2 rows, until 2st remain on each dpn.
Knit 4 rows (this is his neck).
(Stuff rest of body through neck).
K1, inc1, at beg of each dpn, until 12st total (4 on each dpn).
Now divide evenly between 4 dpns- 3 st on each, to begin head.
Knit 1 row.
Next row, each dpn- knit1, inc1, k to last st, inc1, k1.
Next row, knit.
Rep last 2 rows until 15 st on each dpn (of bigger, if you want him to have a bigger head)  Cheesy
Knit 10 rows (or a few more if you want him to have a bigger head).
Next row, k2tog, k to last 2 st, k2tog.
Knit 1 row.
Rep until 9st left on each dpn.
Next row, k2tog, k1, all the way round (all 4 needles)
(Stuff head)
Knit 1 row.
Next row, k2tog all the way round. (3st on each dpn).
K2 rows.
(You may need to top up stuffing in the head).
k2tog, k1 all the way around.
k 1 row.
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread through stitches and pull tight, fasten off.

ARMS.

Lime DK. Make two, obviously.

C/on 3 st.
Icord for 12 rows.
C/on 3 st.
K across row.
c/on in purl 3 st.
purl across row.
St st for 6 rows.
k2tog, k2tog, k1, k2tog cast off the single stitch, k2tog. (Hope this bit makes sense).
K first 2 st, c/off. Break yarn and rejoin and rep.

LEGS

Make 2 in lime DK.

c/on 6 st, divde between 3 dpns.
k1 row.
k1, inc1, k2.
k 6 rows.
k6st, turn, p3st, turn, k3, k to end of round.
k1 row.
K1, k2tog, rep 3 times.
K1 row.
K2tog, put stitches on one needle.
K1 row.
I cord for 12 rows.
C/off.

EYES

White DK and 2.5mm needles

Make 2.

C/on 4st.
K 1 row.
P 1 row.
K1, inc1, k to last st, inc1, k1.
p1 row.
Rep last 2 rows until 10 st.
P 1 row.
K 1 row.
Rep last 2 rows twice (four rows total)
P 1 row.
K2tog, k to last 2 st, k2tog.
P 1 row.
Rep last 2 rows until 4 st left.
P 1 row.
C/off.

MAKING UP.

Sew eyes onto body, then, using purple DK, french knot or embrioder a pupil into the centre of each eye.
Backstitch a mouth using teal DK.

Arms, sew up the hands and sew onto sides of body.

Legs, sew onto bottom of, err, bottom!!

Voila!

I wondered about getting some REALLY STRONG magnets, to put into his hands and feet, but I couldn't get any that would make him stick through the yarn.
Apart from him, I've made a blue one called roquefort (a blue kind of cheese!)
And 'Hampton' (currently sans arms, legs and eyes) who is multi striped, and I made while holidaying in Northampton.

They don't take long, proficient knitters should be able to do one on a day.

Post pics if you make one!!

Here's the original post:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=155068.0

EDITED to add:

The original Cheese had thumbs, and feet that were a bit like socks (with a kind of heel) but I couldn't remember how I did it!

So the new pattern is a bit different, but easy to modify.
