I got this from the newest issue of BUST, it's still a work in progress, I'm working on it bit by bit and taking my time picking the perfect pieces for it. I'm making it for my fiance for christmas for his stocking. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I'm hoping Santa will bring me a better digicam!

The outside, I cut the heart out with a lot of struggling because I don't have tin snips...don't even ask, it wasn't pretty.

Opened, I added the extra flap there so the picture would show through the heart and so I could put something else on the other side of the paper.

Opened all the way. I glued fake mini roses in the tin to pretty it up. I took some thick decorative paper I got in the scrapbooking section of AC Moore and accordian folded it, then printed a few pics of us on cardstock from my computer and glued them in.

There's the mini photo album opened.

Tips for anyone attempting this:

1- Burning an altoids tin stinks. Not horribly, but open a window and DONT do it when you know the person you're making it for will be home soon. They WILL get suspicious.
2- Eat or hide the altoids...again, they get suspicious.
3- If you cool the tin by running it under water, dry dry dry that thing, I ended up with rust because the tin wasn't as dry as I thought. Use a blowdryer or something if need be!

I will post the final product when I'm done!

The coolest part is totally not visable in the photo, I need to take a better pic of it, when you put the tin on the stove, it charrs the tin so it looks like an abalone shell. It's so cool looking. Added a rose quartz moon to it today.

That's way cool. I kinda like the rustyness of it, makes it a bit more antique looking. I'd do it the same way, if I had the chance Smiley

That's so pretty, it looks antique-ish.  I love anything antique.  Last year for v-day I made my husband a card out of a paper picture holder from the 20's. I probably should post it.....

I like that.  I was searching this morning for ways to alter Altoid tins so I have a place to put the marble magnets I made for people's stockings.  This would be a great way to change it.

This is so awesomley cute. I'm always wondering what to do with my leftover altoid tins other than collage them, and now I know! I'm definately going to be making one for my Boy for Christmas. Thank you for posting this!   Cheesy Keep up the awesomeness.
