I think that would take away from the excitement of the swap, though.  It's easy to take a ton of pictures, choose the best 24 and burn them, but to take a roll of film and send it off not knowing how the photos turned out, is so much more exciting.

Agreed - picking up the film from the developer is my one of my favortie parts. I may end up getting a disposable for this since my usual camera has been acting up and my new fancy schmancy one I'm not just used to and my toy cameras usually only get a few "good" shots of a roll. Ooops - did I just show my addiction?

you could probably just ask your partner if they'd rather recieve a CD or a roll of film/disposable camera and decide what to do together
