My mom is from Denmark and taught me how to make these when I was little. There are endless possibilities, I have made them with felt, fabric, wrapping paper, construction paper and now recycled magazine pages!

They are baskets so you can put all sorts of things inside them and hang them on the tree or give them as gifts.

One year I made one for every person working in my office instead of giving Christmas cards. People were really excited to get something that was handmade!

You can get some neat effects when you cut the strips that make up the woven area into different widths, but this picture is of a more basic design.
