It seems all my friends are having babies right now.  Imagine my surprise when my Mom told me she's pregnant...with twins. Enter the baby surprise jacket, by Elizabeth Zimmerman:

I made a brain protector with the leftovers, and made the cat model it:

She didn't seem to mind.

You can find more pictures on my flickr page:

And more details about the sweater on my blog.

You know, I think there is actually an adult version out there somewhere. I'm pretty sure I saw it when I was searching for the baby pile of flesh.

I think with the adult pile of flesh, you double the number of stitches.

Cute!!! I eat the colors... what yarn did you use? The brain protector is too cute also... are you going to make another for the 2nd baby? How fun to have some little ones in the family to knit for!

As for the adult surprise... you can order that from School House press... I got both patterns and plan on making the baby surprise sometime when I know someone that will need it. I was going to make the adult surprise - but now that I saw EZ's Tomten on Brooklyn Tweed I'm kind of taken with that... so I need to decide one of them? or both!

You can never change the past. But by the gace of God, you can win the future. So, remember those things which will help you forward, but forget about the things which will only hold you back.
