Okay so i know christmas is a long way away but i knit really slow.  So i  have decided to knit the architect scarf from knit cafe for my ex-bf who i'm really good friends with now.  And i was wondering if anyone as made any of their guy friends things and what their reactions were.

I knitted a Doctor Who scarf (lots 'n' lots of garter stitch, lots 'n' lots of ends to weave in) for my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time.  He's been a fan of Doctor Who since he was a little boy.  He loved the scarf!

Yup, I did the Dr Who scarf for the husband too. Good job marriage is for life becasue I'm not making another for love and I doubt anyone can afford the amount I'd charge  Grin

I made a Connemara scarf for my husband and finished it in mid-May.  In Los Angeles, which means it's 90+ almost every day.   Sad  But he swears that he loves it and that he's going to wear it this winter.

I knitted my boyfriend a wrist cuff, and he's never used it. But ya know - it was pretty crappy.

I've knitted a dread-band for a guy friend that was very well recieved.

I knitted my husband a hat back when I first started knitting. It was just plain black with a rib edge. He absolutely loves it. He's like a little kid with it, I have to steal it in the middle of the night to wash it. He even wears it when it's way too hot for a knit hat, and he looks like a goofball (picture the former computer programmer with dorky shirt from thinkgeek.com, jean shorts, sandals with socks and a black stocking cap).

In my experience the guy friends tend to be a lot more amazed by and appreciative of knitting than the girl friends.  Especially if it's something customized for them, that they couldn't just go out and buy.

I like to do personal swaps now and again.

I knit, crochet, and make stitch markers.

Just pm me if you wanna swap. Smiley
