I'm planning to make this my first cold weather project (once I finish a couple more summery items).

candicane: I was thinking of using the KP Andean Silk for this, since the price is right, but I've never used any KP yarns before.  What don't you like about it?

For me the Andean Silk has a bit of an itch to it. I made Tubey with it and can wear a shirt under it, so no problem there. I just don't want it touching my bare neck. Also, I think it has stretched out a bit due to the alpaca and silk components. Maybe the more "lacey" structure of this sweater will be better suited for the yarn than Tubey was.

ozknitter, that looks great so far! The cowl neck was what really sold me on this sweater.

I'm impatiently waiting for my yarn to arrive. I'm using Bernat Satin...I haven't used it before, but the price was right for my student budget and they had the exact colour I wanted. I'll post progress pics as soon as I get going.

Good to know.  I'm pretty sensitive to itchy sweaters, especially touching my neck.  I guess I'll keep looking for something else that might work better.

Yeah I would hate to make this out of itchy wool.  The neck is pretty snug and it would drive me crazy.

Here's a little progress shot.  I'm trying hard to get this finished as it's winter here, so this is not my usual rate of progress.  'Scuse the messy hair, face and bathroom  Roll Eyes

It's such a quick knit and I'm just loving the eyelets!!  I can't seem to get the neck to sit right but I'm hoping a bit of blocking will sort that out.

Thanks, I don't think so.  I don't mind the loose fit and I think it might make the eyelets look a little weird.  Though I'm fully prepared to rip it back if it needs shaping.

oh no! Shocked what don't you like about it? I've already started mine with this yarn. I like how soft it is.  Smiley Is it cause it has little alpaca flurries that stick out of it?  Undecided
thanks for the info

I would love to make this sweater too. What yarn are you using? The sample was knit in KP Andean Silk, which is not one of my favorite yarns.
