WOW! That is really impressive, what a great idea and what creativity it must have taken to think of the dowels with the beads on the end.

Thanks!!  Actually, the creativity spawned from lack of resources.  I couldn't find dowel caps that I liked, so I went searching for other options. Cheesy  Nailing them on the ends was a bit tedious though.

Those are really beautiful. I'm glad your invitations turned out better than mine did.

My husband and I met at the newspaper where we worked, so I designed our invitations to look like the front page of the newspaper. I was totally DIY about the whole wedding, and I was pretty much Zen Bride about everything ... except those invitations, which I felt had to be perfect because they reflected my skills as a professional copy editor and page designer ... so of course my computer kept screwing up and eating/corrupting/refusing to print the file. I redid the invitations three times before giving up and taking them to my mom's house (two hours away!) to use her computer instead.

We'd finished folding them and were putting them in envelopes when I noticed that instead of RSVP, they said "RVSP." At that point, I cut my losses, got out a red pen, and put a proofreader's mark on each one, along with a joke about how many copy editors it takes to proofread a wedding invitation.

Moral of the story: Have fun planning your wedding, enjoy the opportunity to let your creativity run wild, and if something doesn't work out exactly right ... laugh it off and let it go.

Thanks for sharing your gorgeous invitations with all of us. They are truly amazing ... and you didn't even need a pair of copy editors (or $22 a card!) to get them right!  Grin

Wow, thank you!  Thank you for your kind words and sharing such a wonderful story!!  That it truly one of the best wedding stories I've ever heard - so funny, cute AND with a happy ending!

Awww those are so pretty!  I absolutely love the colors.
So, do your guests get two separate things? The scrolls and an evelope? Or do the scrolls go in the envelope? *confused*

Thanks, thekster!

They only get one piece of mail... the scroll & booklet both fit in the envelope.  For RSVP, we went with phone & e-mail options.

Honestly, because the guestlist is so small, we already know exactly who is coming, so the RSVP process was entirely a formality.  We didn't want to shell out postage for postcards or RSVP cards/envelopes. Cheesy

Those are GORGEOUS. I have to agree with the general consensus that yours are indeed better than those in the link.
