Details of swap:
You will be crafting a creature from the Harry Potter world for ONE partner. Your creature can be knitted, crocheted, sewn or made of felt, or any combination of those crafts, and stuffed with something friendly. The idea is to send your partner something they can care for, cuddle, so no wood, ceramic, etc. You can use beads and notions for details, of course, but the creature should be soft and snuggily. Creatures can be any magical creatures mentioned in the books, movies or subsequent texts (“Fantastic Beasts”). Some good ones are: nifflers, puffskeins/Pygmy Puffs, owls, dragons, Blast-Ended Skrewts. “Fantastic Beasts” includes mermaids and werewolves as well. There are SO many possibilities! I’m giving a good, long crafting time as well which should cut down on late senders (I’m optimistic).
Now, this is a bit tricky to lay down in size and crafting time. I think a good measuring tool is a teddy bear, at least 6” and no bigger than 12”. For this swap, I want to stress everyone creativity and detail: the more you put in, the better your creature will look. I expect this to be a *large* project, both in size and time commitment. If you don’t think you can commit yourself to making the best, most life-like creatures, then you’ll want to skip this swap. I’m willing to take on this challenge, are you?
Yes, some of the creatures are bigger than others: doxie vs dragon is a good example, but this isn’t about making things true to size, its about true to craftster swap standards as far as *large* projects go. If you’re concerned, PM before signing up. 6”-12” is the rule for this project; I know that doesn’t fit everyone, but maybe someone’ll be inspired to do a creatures charms swaps with small versions, beads, etc.
