I have never posted a link here in the forums (so sorry if it's done incorrectly by copy/paste), but I too had major problems with the Saturday Market Bag's lace and let's just say that it involved SMB flying across the room last summer.

 I found this thread that rrrreeeeaaallllly seemed to make everything make sense.  I've made about 6 of the bags using this variation.

Really, really cute! I've seen the pattern on magknits and I definitely want to try it out. I've put it on my to-do list to make for Christmas gifts. I'm thinking of making the strap much shorter than magknits has it. I don't like how the bag hangs so low on the girl in the picture.

Anyway, it's beautiful!

Thanks for posting that link! I seem to be having the same problems everyone else did with the yarnovers and passing the slip stitch over the k1 and yo. I'll give it another go tonight!

This thread is helpful. I just started making this bag today with the changes from distressed. So far so good, but I only just finished the first row...
