I only recently took up sewing and am still getting used to my machine, but I have managed to turn out a couple of projects that I am proud of.

First up, we have a Koi fish tote bag.

The koi is painted on with dimensional fabric paint.  I didn't really have a pattern, but based it off some pretty simple totes that I already own.    This is one of the first things I have made where I managed to sew in more or less a straight line, so I am pretty proud of it.

Next we have the monkey purse:

This used to be a skirt that is now way too small for me.  I took apart all the seams and reseamed it to be a bit smaller, closed up the bottom, and satin stitched a monkey by the pocket.  It is lined with a monkey print fabric.

And finally, a knitting needle case:

I used two different colors of the same fabric for this, and again am happy to be able to sew in a more or less straight line now, as this made the project turn out much better than it might have otherwise.

Thanks for looking!

I love the Monkey Purse.  I've been wanting to sew a circular knitting needle case.  Now that I've seen how good yours looks, I'm gonna get off my butt and do it. Smiley

great job!  just so you know, you didn't have to take apart the seams first, you can just sew new ones and then trim the old ones off.

(i guess there was maybe a reason you didn't do this, and if that's the case i'm not trying to be a know-it-all, i just wanted to help since you said you were kinda new)

Those are all so well done. It's hard to believe you are just a beginner.
