not sure if this is right place but here goes. my friends teenage daughter picked the colors.... the over all turn out I like but colors...mmm not so much.
anyway here it is.

what do you think???
FINALLY TUTORIAL HAS ARRIVED
Ok so I made this one a little smaller than the last but only because it is somewhat hard to find the bucket size that I used last time.
Everything is stitched on ¼ inch hem unless other wise stated.
Anyway here we go
You will need:
Thread and possibly a seam ripper
½ yard main fabric
½ yard contrasting fabric
¼ yard sew in fleece (or batting)
2 ½ yards ¼ inch elastic
3 inches Velcro
1 paint can (one gallon size)
***Optional 120 inches of ¼ in wide ribbon----so you can skip the tie making process!
OK now you will want to cut out these pieces:
#1 Inside Pocket cut 2 Contrasting 11 ½ X 5 inch pieces
#2 Upper section cut 2 main fabric 11 ½ X 7 ¾ inch pieces
#3 Bottom cut 1 contrasting circle 6 3/8 in across
#4 Pocket cut 2 main fabric 14 ½ X 4 ¼ inch pieces
#5 Pocket cut 2 contrasting fabric 14 ½ X 4 ½ inch pieces
#6 Sides Cut 2 main fabric 11 ½ X 8 ¼ pieces
#7 Ties cut 12 8 ¾ X 1 ½ inch or 12 pieces of ribbon 8 ¾ inches pieces
#8 Handle Cover Cut 2 fleece 1 main and 1 contrasting 5 X 4 1/8 pieces

Ok get the drink and chocolate ready cause here we go……
Piece #1 make ½ inch hem folding under raw edge also.

Pin wrong sides of pieces #1 to piece #2 sew edges and bottom. Then create 2-3 pockets on each piece.
Place both #2 pieces right sides together pin and sew the sides together. You have created a tube

Now sew in a gathering stitch ½ inch from edge of bottom.
Sew piece #3 right sides together to the tube gathering and pin in place first it helps.

Turn right side out, remove gathering stitch and set aside. This is the piece that will fit inside the bucket.
Take pieces #4 & #5 turn under ½ inch and iron turn under raw edge a bit (make sure you leave enough room for elastic to be fed thru.

Do this to all 4 pieces.
Then cut 4 pieces of elastic 11 ½ inch each. Feed one thru each piece #4 and #5’s
You now have

Place a gathering stitch ½ inch from bottom on each piece.
OK now take each #5 pieces gathered at bottom and pin wrong side to right side of #6 2 ¾ inch from the bottom. I used zig zag to stitch in place and sides. Looks like this.

Now take piece #4 gather and put the raw edge right side down against raw edge of piece #5
(trust me it works out in a minute) Here’s what it looks like in this part

Sew along bottom ¼ inch hem of piece #4 NOT SIDES yet.
Flip #4 piece up, pin and sew sides and along bottom of pocket.

Sew up to create 2-3 pockets. Will be 4-6 total pockets on each piece.

Set side.
Unless you are smarter than me & choose to use ribbon then you will get out all 12 #7 pieces.
Fold and iron in half. Fold and tuck raw edges in iron and sew closed
Looks like this

I choose to use both fabrics you can use one color only if you prefer….or smarter use ribbon.
Also you will want to fold and zig zag one edge of each tie piece.
For those that used ribbon take a potty break get some refills for our drinks and some more chocolates please while you are up. Thanks !!
Now all 12 ties are ready WHEW! That was the hard part
Take each of the pocketed #6 piece and attach 6 ties to each like this and sew in place.

Then along the sides fold under ¼ inch and sew. (please excuse my sewing my bobbin has chosen to hate me now.) but it will look like this

Ok now fold up ¾ inch of bottom and turn raw edges (again leave room for the elastic to be fed thru).
Feed in one 6 inch piece of elastic to each pocketed section. Make sure you secure the edges. Will look like this

You should have 2.

Now you can pin right sides of #6 pieces to right sides of the bucket part
Like this

Sew together…..
Slip into paint can and flip side pieces out over the edge (keep handle free)
Tie all 6 ties
Looks like this now

…..almost done
Now here comes the handle cover….. If you can figure a better way to make this please share!!
Take pieces #8
Lay one piece of fleece then one fabric wrong side down, lay other fabric right side down then other fleece piece. Sew together and leave hole for turning…trim corners. Will look like this

Turn right side out sew edges.
Cut 3 inch piece of Velcro on one side of cover piece place one side of the Velcro ¼ inch from edge and sew in place. On other side at other end place other piece of Velcro ¾ inch from edge will look like this

Wrap it around the handle and TADA you are done!!!

Be sure you share how yours turns out….
