I REALLY wanted to make the men's button down shirt recon today but Goodwill was closed... So... I went to a schlock shop and got a really pretty ladies tank top and made it into a dress. Not bad for $5.99! Don't ask me why there is a pear on a shirt that has stars all over it but I like pears AND stars so whatever..

This is the shirt brand new

I un-stitched the straps from the back of the shirt so the straps could function as halter top ties. Then I un-stitched the seam binding and snipped the top because it was wide for a woman and I only needed it 5" wide for my daughter's chest

Then I made the shirt A-line by just sewing at an angle on both sides from under her arms to almost the bottom.

This is my drooly 2 year old daughter modeling it for me Smiley (2 year molars coming in)

This is it all laid out, finished.

I don't know why there's a pear either, but I like it.  Very cute.

Thanks ladies! My daughter just loves it because it's thin and airy. I had fun making it. It's nice to have something done in an hour.
