Just wondering if when you finish a project do you ever write to the person who wrote the pattern to thank them?

I've noticed that with thank you notes, designers get a kick out of seeing pics you people's FOs.

I guess I can see the reasoning about writing thank you notes for free patterns......but for the majority of patterns, the designer gets plenty of thanks when I pay for the book/pattern.

I know I've received little emails from folks who've used my patterns, and it is quite lovely.  makes me all happy and squiggly inside. Cheesy  I've also sent emails to folks whos' patterns I've used.  It's just nice all around, really.

So far I've only ever written to thank one person. She seemed pretty happy to know I had used her pattern.

I should make it a habit.

I did once because I also wanted to ask a question. She was really nice about it and asked to see the variation ones I had made.

I usually comment on someone's blog if I've used their pattern. It's always nice to have good feedback.

my "thank you" was paying for the pattern.
