The minute I saw the fairies and gnomes pattern, I bought it right away! I was very pleased with the size of the patterns, the fairy in the picture below is 7 inches from tip of her wing to the bottom of the toadstool she sits on, which was perfect for the project I'm doing.

Here's my progress so far:

Her dress is in metallic thread, along with the outline of her wings and the little "twinkles" around her. Metallic thread makes me want to hurl my embroidery hoop across the room like a Frisbee, but I stuck with it and I love the results.

If you go to my blog, there are clickable pictures that get quite big, if you're interested in seeing more detail on the stitches and such. Smiley

*~*~*Update*~*~*

She has hair, ladies and gentlemen!

picture with flash: (more accurate color)

without flash: (more contrast)

This is taking longer than I'd hoped, but it's coming out so nice! I used veriagated yellow for the hair, making an extra effort to make it look like she has pretty highlights.

Any suggestions for a color I should use on the mushroom? I'm drawing a blank there...

Thanks!!

I used a chain stitch all the way through, so it would have a nubbly texture. It's taking longer than I originally thought because of that, but I like how it looks in the end. Smiley

Wow! Great job so far. For a second I questioned whether her dress was glitter glue or not (I'm not always the brightest). I didn't know there was metallic thread. And that IS one shexy fairy!

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.
