Fiber Friday 7/20

Hello all, I hope everyone had a fiber filled week!  

I've been a bit behind in the Fiber Friday business, so this week I decided to do a bunch of spinning on my lovely Louet S51 which is nicknamed "Bobby."    I have also recently discovered the joys of setting dye in an oven, which means bulk dyeing sessions in the near future! Here are some of my little creations from this week

This one is called Degas Blues and is 136 Yards of Bulky Yarn

I finished up some tencel that has been plaguing me and sitting on my spindle unfinished for months. It's going to be a while before I attempt tencel again, I don't think I'm cut out for it.



But in happier news, I finished up a chunky yarn out of a HollyEQQ bag. Persian Ocean colorway. I'm working it up into a hat, and I'm going to give it its own thread when the hat is done. But here's a peek:

I've been slacking on spinning lately - actually started merino/silk (hopefully) laceweight a few days ago... but we are leaving for an 8 day vacation tomorrow, so I don't think it will get finished anytime soon.

This is my drop spindle. Cheap and cheerful



This is my first ever worsted yarn. It's pure jacobs with some pretty metallic thread as I have an idea of what I want to do with it.

aw i finally can participate. i finally broke down and bought a very nice top whorl flower spindle from Spinsanity at Etsy and previous to this i bought some painted wool roving at my LYS. I taught myself via the internets. So, here's my first tiny yarn!

and i bought some more roving from Sheep Shed Studios so i can try dying too

How do you set dye in the oven? That sounds great

anakarina, that is just gorgeous! No one would ever know it was your first attempt if you didn't say so! My first attempt, on the other hand...lets just say it's better for the world at large if I wait to find an actual person to teach me.
