I saw there was a Celtic/Norse Swap a while back, but I'm thinking Scandinavia, any time period, any country, open to swappers from all over.

Great things come from Scandinavia:

Vikings (way cooler than pirates could ever dream of being)
Excellent Cars
A legacy of winners from The Worlds Strongest Man competition
Santa Claus & St. Lucia
Gingersnaps
Pippi Longstocking
Meatballs
Bjork
The Hives
ABBA!!!
Ace of Base
Ikea
Quirky Fashion statements
Reindeer
Lutefisk
UFF DA!
Sharks & Whales
Lazytown
Dala Horses
The Swedish Chef
Those wacky Lapplanders

(I know the list is heavy on the Swedish things, but that's what I am, if you have other fantastic things about Scandinavia you'd like to share: please do!)

I can't organize yet because I don't have enough swaps in, but if someone is either willing to organize, or if the potential participants would like to wait until Fall when I have more swaps, I can do it.

Sounds cool. I have a bazillion scandinavian related things in my house as i have swedish relatives and family in sweden. I've been to sweden about 4 times, Norway twice and Denmark once and Finland briefly so I think this would be a pretty good swap for me! Cheesy I was thinking Hans Christian Anderson, christmas trees, Carl Larson, Ulrikakaka, elks, trolls, lynx, bacon and pastry (danish bacon! haha!) I wouldnt mind organizing if there was enough support, but im unsure as to how this swap would work out... would it be like, craft your partners favourite scandinavian related things?

Did you forget VIKINGS?

They hate it when you do that.  Grin

dude! vikings were top of the list, I would never forget that.

midnight: precisely.  the survey that participants would fill out would ask for their favorite scandinavian country or scandinavian related items.  the possibilities are pretty vast.  me, I'd love if someone could pimp out my volvo, build me a shrine to the awesomeness of vikings which ties in Magnus Ver Magnussen, and possibly throw in an Abba themed pin cushion.  Yunno, in a perfect world.

What a scralig!  I was swilling mead and missed it. Reading comprehension not big part of Viking training.

And I'm just imagining the word "Dude" with little dots over the "u"

Let's see, there is the Sami (sp?) people, finnish groups Varttina and Angelit and swedish band Hedningarna.  The arctic, the north cape.  I have a little obsession with Norway and Finland.  Never been there, but I would love to go.  Whether or not I can participate in this swap is a big IF.
