I love knitted/crocheted stuff and don't do either of those

Me too so that's why this swap really interests me!

I can sew and crochet, but my primary craft is bath and body stuff...I guess that would be one where " the nature of the craft dictates multiple smaller items" because it would be hard to make just one big item...unless it was a massive batch of something. Like 30 bath bombs or something! So I guess mine would be a set in a preferred scent or something like a log of soap that you could cut yourself? If somebody wanted it.  I can't knit or bead or silkscreen or lots of other stuff!

Something like that! Other ideas for bath and body might be matching sets, or a bunch of matching mini-soaps to use as party favors.

Hi - Not sure where to post this but I was wondering if I could participate in this.  I've never taken part in a swap on Craftster before.

I am a fairly experienced crafter (see profile) and I have taken part in a few swaps elsewhere:

bookmark swap on swap-bot (arranged by the CraftyThreadsnYarns forum,

International Scarf Exchange 3 & 4

Ornamental 2 Christmas Ornaments 2006,

and a Stitch marker/Yarn Swap.

Thanks...Bernie

Yep,
and I wanted to add that I don't think it's the size of the project
that matters as much, bec. the recipient is going to be Wowwed (?)
by receiving an item that she cannot make!
Not sure if I'm making sense here, but I think this swap might be one where the partners can discuss projects & agree on what they will make & receive, so as long as they are happy, it's all good?

With the long crafting period and focus on one large item, it's better to do something bigger if your craft allows for it. That's why I suggested a set. It's easier to get small items that you can't make in other kinds of swaps. However, this will be more flexible for the "beginner's circle," so if a big project is beyond someone's skill level in the craft they want to do, that would be an option.

Maybe "complexity" is a better word, or "effort."

Also, keep in mind that it won't be pairs of partners, it'll be A sends to B who sends to C who sends to A, and it won't be easy for partners to just decide to make smaller items instead. If that's what you want, ask for the "beginner's circle."

A log of soap!!! Oh yum.  Can I play with you, purleese?  Wink Only joking.  I have always wanted to make soap.  Just never got round to it. Not enough hands and all that....Smiley
