i don't know how many of you have seen the paper and glue gun wand tutorial, but if you haven't, go here and take a look!

i've made two wands from this tutorial so far and am in the middle of making another one just because they're so dang fun and so EASY.. and turn out SO well.

first wand, based off of the "official" hermione one (and second one in-progress above it)

second wand, based off of harry's

third wand, just for fun (hasn't been painted, glue detail's unfinished as well)

basically, you roll up a piece of paper diagonally, do some trimming, plug the wholes with a glue gun, then do some detail-work with the glue gun. you're supposed to seal it with spray paint or household emulsion, but i have neither so i've just skipped that step and they still turn out fine. i just skipped straight to the acrylics, doing some brush-distressing and the like. it's really fun and extremely rewarding, and i'm planning on passing out a couple of these at the book 7 release party (along with SPEW badges) if any little kiddos want one!

*amazed*  Shocked Your wands look incredible!  I tried making one, but I ran into problems because my glue-gun detailing wouldn't stay on...it would just come off after drying.  Heh...maybe I need some different glue.

those are seriously wicked. I read that tutorial, so it doesn't sound too  hard in theory, but I'll bet my left buttock it's tough to do the detailing. nice work!

Red Roses-If the glue came off, what kind of paper did you use? That might make a difference, some of the slick paper doesn't hold glue very well.

I used regular ol' printer paper, so I was quite shocked when it wouldn't hold.  But at least filling the ends with the glue gun worked, even if the detailing didn't.  I plan on trying again another day.
