My friend loves bright colours, and it was her birthday recently, so I decided I wanted to give her a decorative cushion for her room. As a single mum, her son's room is the usual kid-full, but the rest of her house is quite utilitarian, and I wanted to help her make her special space feel a bit more special.
I decided to make her a bright pink cushion for her bed (amongst other things), but I had the most awful time finding fabric!
Everything was either nasty to touch or the wrong colour. Enter this fabulously gaudy pink dress for $5 at an OpShop.
The fabric is a kind of acrylic suede. LOVELY and soft!
Plus, it had cute little embroidery motifs, that I added to my cushion.

I actually made the insert as well, by pulling apart an old, square cushion, washing and reshaping the innards, and sewing a new cover.
