Love it, except if I were you I would paint the "skin" part of the apple red, or even green for good contrast.

I have thought that myself, actually... I have 4 of these charms total (including the one on the necklace) and I just don't know what kind of paint to use, or how to get it to stay on... the charms are plasticy (I assume that they are, indeed, plastic)...

If anyone should have a suggestion on what kind of paint I could use on them, i would love you forever... if not, well, then I'll just stick to pairing them with brightly colored beads!

They have acrylic paints that are made specifically for plastic. You can find them at Michael's. They are not always on the same wall as the rest of the craft acrylics, so you might need to look for them. I think they are $2 per bottle. But I actually think it's cooler all in one color.. I want! Cheesy

I actually think the whole appeal of this necklace is the fact that the apple core is clearly recognizable for what it is, but the color (or lack thereof) is totally unexpected and therefore really draws the eye.  I love love love it and need need need one...

I totally agree with anwylaeth.
I think that the apple core looks really interesting white, and that it does indeed draw the eye to it.
I have to have one of those charms!
They are just dahling!
Cheesy

Wow.
This is awesome. I really want one.
I disagree about the apple though. I think the whiteness makes your eye go toward the red beads and away from the apple. I think a nice bright green would be perfect to draw the eye.

Looooovvve it.  Too cool.  I'm torn about the painting.  I'd be so afraid I'd ruin one of those amazing charms, you know?  And I dig it white.
