My daughter makes the funniest requests when I ask what she wants me to crochet for her next.  The latest?

"sweetie, what do you want for Christmas this year?"
"devil ears!" (actual conversation)

Then for her birthday coming up, she asked for a green alien kitty, so here she is!

And here are both together:

thanks for looking!

Aw. Very cute.  Did you crochet around a headband?

nope, I didn't crochet around a headband.  I just sc'd back & forth a few rows, made a triangle on both ends, and then made the ties.  I didn't use a pattern, just made it up as I went along.

Awesome job.  Aren't kids a riot?  The only thing I can possibly think of that would add to the alien-ness of your adorable kitty is some antennae.  Then again, they might just get ripped off. Love the devil ears.  "Devil ears."  I just like saying it.

Awww, so cute! The alien kitty kind of reminds me of knitted amigurumi I saw before.

My current craft project: crochet domokun doll.

the kitty is actually inspired by amigurumi I've seen on flickr. I was trying to find something fast & easy.
