Details of swap:
Ok everyone, the idea for this swap was taken from Tea Towel Tour Swap but modified after discussion on the Aussie board.

The idea is that each person will send one item (pillowcase, tea towel, apron etc) to be embroidered/embellished. Each item will be sent out in a ring (Person 1 > Person 2 > Person 3 > Person 4 > Person 1) with each adding their own bit of stitching. At the end, each person will end up with their original item made all pretty by their fellow Craftsters.

You can choose to nominate a theme and include that with your item, or you can let people decide according to their own whims. If you do choose to have a theme, remember to include a note to that effect with your item. After signups have closed there will be an additional what you need to know and do PM going out to all involved.

Please note that this is a large swap in regards to time frame and commitment; please think carefully if you will be able to fulfill your end before you do chose to participate. I do not mean to deter anyone I just want to make sure it goes smoothly for all involved.

There will be two additional components to this swap that you can choose to participate in or not:
First up, there is the option aside to choose to allow your fellow Craftsters to, as well as embroidery, embellish your item with beads, trims, ribbons, fabric etc. If this is something you would like please note this is the questionnaire.
Secondly, there is the option to participate in a postcard exchange. The idea is that after you have embroidered/embellished the persons item you send them a hi postcard before sending their item on to the next Craftster. If you choose to be involved in this it does mean that everyone in your group will receive your mailing address not just the person before you in the ring.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap:
Craftster username:
Email address:
Your real name:
Mailing address including the country:

Level of embroidery experience (expert beginner etc)?
What are you likely to send to get embroidered?
Would you like to specify a theme for your item?
Do you wish to allow any kind of embellishment or just embroidery?
Do you wish to participate in the optional postcard send out?
What colours do you like/dislike?
Is there anything that you would not like to see on your item?
Anything you would?
Any other information you think is relevant?

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

AFTER PEOPLE HAVE SIGNED UP AND BEEN APPROVED, LIST THE PARTICIPANTS HERE AND WHO IS SENDING TO WHOM:

here it is a basic step by step

1. get your item ready
2. embroider something on it to get the ball rolling
3. attach with a safety pin to your item a note stating your craftster name, mailing address, theme and any instructions that you think the embroideries need to know.
4. pop it in the post to the person on the list after you. PM librarylass or Sharre when you send it.
5. wait impatiently for item to arrive
6. when it arrives, embroider/embellish it
7. when done pop it in the post to the person on the list after you. PM librarylass or Sharre with whose item it was and when you sent it
8. send a nice hello message on a postcard to the person that the item belongs to
9. repeat steps 5 to 8 until your original emissary returns to you

Any problems along the way, PM me (sharre) or librarylass and we'll try our best to sort it out.

Send out dates are as follows:
3 Aug
17 Aug
31 Aug
14 Sept
28 Sept
12 Oct
26 Oct

Sent my info  Cheesy  I think now would be a good time to do a stocktake of my floss stash.  That way I can be sure I have a good supply of all the basic colours and at least one skein of everything else.  I don't wanna have to run to Spotlight everytime a new tea towel arrives, I'd love an excuse to make a visit each week but it would really cut into my stitching time  Cheesy

hi, is this swap for only hand embroidery or can machine embroidery be allowed. I would keep it in the tone and theme of the towel/item owner of course. just wondering.
lovely idea. how long is it till the item is returned to the owner?
do you embroider on everyones?

Hi cyndiq,
The swap was originally intended for hand embroidery, but there is was an optional component added for "any type of embellishment allowed" whether this is open to machine embroidery I think would be up to each individual participant.

Yes you do embroider on everyone's item in your group, at the moment that is everyone who's signed up cause the turnout has been so small. (those people umming and ahhing over it, come on join the fun, you know you want to!)

At this point it'll be approximately 3 months before the item is returned to the owner, it is dependent of course on the number of people who sign up.

Hope this answers your questions Smiley
