Waitrose's finest plastic carrier bags, made into strips and then wool, then knitted (ouch @ my fingers!)

But I'm quite pleased with the results, and it was much admired at my niece's christening  Grin

a very fuzzy picture to show the size!

very cool. i've been thinking about knitting with plastic bags (i've crocheted them and it really hurts my hands), but have been lazy to jump to it.

i have a question, what do you mean by "made into strips and then wool, then knitted". how do you make them into wool?

Yeah, just lopping the circles of plastic together to make "wool"

I'd eat to, but sadly I can't claim it's all my own pile of flesh, it borrows heavily from a Knitblog bag

My friend who is a happy hooker says this is really popular on the crochet board.  You must be very patient to cut out all those strips.  Rock on.

Heh, not really, I did it whilst watching the tv, so aside from annoying my flatmates with the rustling, it seemed to take no time at all  Smiley

Oh. Sad Silly rules!

I know Sad  But give me a few more months and I'll possibly be more confident with the different stitches to actually create something, rather than just "slightly modify" it  Grin

What a beautiful color! I can't get plastic bags that color around here. I eat to see other people's plastic bag creations. I have a few free knitted pile of flesh links at my website if you are interested. Here is the link to my pile of flesh page. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/my-pile of flesh-links/ Most of my patterns are for crocheted recycled items but I do have a couple of knitted pile of flesh links using plastic bags as yarn.
