That dress is sure to cause double-takes wherever you go.... love the keyboard fabric especially, and it perfectly sets off the other.

Nice job!

The nerd in me loves this, and despite the fabric choices, the colors work very well in making this dress look distinguished and classy.

Thank you all for your lovely compliments!

To answer some questions:
Yes, the fabric really has lines of code on it. I looked at it more closely, and I think it's network code in C. Each little bit of different color is a few lines of code and they're all printed over each other, so it's not like the dress codes for anything in particular.

I got it at QuiltWorks Northwest in Seattle (Bellevue, actually, for anyone local). I poked around online, though, and it looks like you can get it for about $7.50/yard from J&O Fabrics online: http://www.jandofabrics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=men00017 (disclaimer: I haven't purchased fabric from them and can't thus don't know anything about how reputable they are. Also, the fact that all the computer fabric is in the "Men's Stuff" novelty section strikes me as pretty sexist...)

I also have some in a different colorway - white background with black/grey code. Apparently there's coordinating circuit board fabric, which I think I need a few yards of to make another dress.

Congrats on the soon to be born baby girl! They are the best, not saying little boys arn't good ( I have a little boy) but girls are so much more fun to dress. Smiley

The dress is so cute. What size did you make it. I love it.
