You guys are so crafty and creative, I have post anxiety, but here goes.

I made these bracelets this evening using sterling silver beads and wire.  The one with a few other beads (glass and crystal) is a prayer bracelet - the beads stand for the words in a favorite Psalm of my mom's and mine, so they help remind you of the words as you pray the Psalm.

Please, tell me what you think, before I package these up for gifts.

I like the prayer bracelet one. It reminds me of the His Story bracelet or the Salvation bracelet. I work in a Christian bookstore and we sell stuff similar to that. They're very nice. Cheesy

Those are both beautiful!!! Love them! That prayer bracelet is interesting - how do the beads stand for words?

They're very pretty, I had never heard of prayer bracelets but it's a very neat idea.

Aw, thanks you guys!  You really made my day.  The idea of the prayer bracelet was definitely inspired by the salvation bracelet I saw on a website.  For mine, I used Psalm 139:7-10

The colors of the beads represent the phrases in the verses.  For example, in the text there is the phrase "If I rise on the wings of the dawn", and for that phrase I used a sort of light orange bead that reminds me of sunrise.  I think my Mom will like it.  I think I'll make more like this.  I recently have become sort of obsessed with prayer beads - they've been used in one form or another in many different faiths all throughout history.  I like that if I repeat simple prayers each time I touch a bead, it leads to a very meditative state.  Very calming - not that I need calming, oh no... Wink

Thanks for the encouragement!  I am so a little puppy dog that wants pats on the head to keep me crafting.

mystarstyle11 - It's really simple stuff, really, just used two strands of heavy gauge jewelry wire and strung on three sterling silver tube beads on each, then put the strands through the larger bore round silver beads, with each strand going opposite directions, then pull tight (slowly and gently, with even tension).  Repeat. And repeat.  And ... On the prayer bracelet one, I just put the colored glass beads on one of the two strands instead of the three silver tube beads.  Make sense?  I don't know if I'm describing that very well.

My Mom liked her prayer bracelet, but I must say my sister's reaction to the plain silver one, which I gave her, really bowled me over.  See, she's always been "the crafty one" in the family, and is so talented (and kinda picky) that I rarely feel confident enough to give her anything I make, but with this she was so complimentary about the jewelry, and really seemed to genuinely love it.  I also showed them the bracelets I made for the "found art" thing, and they sorta gushed over those, so I'm a happy craftster today!
