I've had these plain dr scholl sandals in my closet for a few years with the intention of painting them. I finally got around to it this week. The shoes still need a few sealer coats but I'm letting the acrylic paint dry for a few days before I put that on.

Thanks!!! I can't wait until they are ready to take a stroll. I'm already lurking on ebay for more pairs of sandals.

Those are awesome! I have a pair of those Dr. Scholls too, and I like wearing them, but they're so plain. Now I know what I need to do with them!  Wink

What a wonderful painting job! I love them! I wonder, though, how long it will last even with sealant? Maybe I'm just hard on my shoes, but I feel like I'd wear out the toes and ball of the foot pretty fast. I'd love to hear how they stand up to wearing!

That is a great idea! You could paint various pairs to match specific outfits! Love the colors and pattern you used. Nice and vibrant.  Smiley

Hi folks! Thanks so much for the compliments! The paint job took me about a day from start to finish. I think the shoes should wear pretty well but I'll post an update as soon as the sealant is dry enough to wear them. I don't think I'll be wearing these shoes every day and on long long walks so hopefully they should last awhile.

This one is great.

I saw this on Martha Stewart. There was a lady who said that she made good money selling ones that she'd made. Hers were striped. I like your design better. They really pop!
