so my mother got this fabric for me years ago at a garage sale for Habitat for Humanity (she also scored me 5 yards of navy silk dupioni, so I think it evened out). It was really not my taste - too bright, too crazy, and polyester to boot - but I hung onto to it because, well, it was from Mom. =) But I finally came up with something fun to make out of it, since loud patterns seem to be everywhere these days. So, I give you the loud* shirt!

*note: yeah, I know, loud is a relative term.  But this print is pretty loud for me! I usually wear neutrals! =)

flat

details (if yer interested): empire seamed, gathered bust, side zip w/hook, trim is cotton twill tape. sleeves are puff, but slit over top of arm (and gathered underneath along twill tape ties). Length of neck ties to be decided. =)

whaddya think my public speaking students will say? will they run for the door, or just laugh?

Maybe the colors are off in the picture, but this shirt isn't very loud. But then, I love bright colors and bold patterns. I quite like it. Good job!

absolutely love your shirt, I don't think it's loud, but I love really bright colors, did you use a pattern? Did I mention that I really love that shirt?

I agree... I don't think it is loud. I consider it to be very tasteful. It is definately a good use of the fabric at hand!

Word on the Marc Jacobs comment.

I love it. I think your students will be like "Lookin' hot, Teach." *wink*.

Just kidding. You're reminding me that I need to pick up some twill tape. Love that stuff.
