I think I might have posted on how awesome this is before, and i kinda feel like I'm necro-ing this thread, but I was looking for tins to maybe try this craft, and came across this: http://www.kohls.com/upgrade/webstore/product_page.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524886000947. they want $120 for 12 of those. Its the exact same thing, too... Makes me feel like most major industries are spying on the public, and profiting from our ideas.

wanted to say thanks for the idea!  I used an instructable and made one--but they are mounted on a sheet of steel I screwed into my kitchen wall.  Best spice rack ever.

The containers are aluminum watch part tins available in sets of 12 from Lee Valley.  I picked the biggest size (70 mm), and then stuck magnets (cut from a sheet) onto the back. 

These are great! I live in China and don't know what Lee Valley is; is there a website you could direct me to for that particular product? My husband loves his spices as a chef, and thinks these look great.
