Oh my God, your poor gerbil. I'm so sorry - that's made me sad now :-(

Just the other day one of my cats knocked over a pot of superglue - you know the really liquid kind, in a pot with a brush like nail varnish? The fumes were amazing, and on the rug it SMOKED like you wouldn't believe. I got my cats out of the room asap. It was actually quite scary.

I regularly sew things to my skirt, too [grin]

Note To Self: If your back hurts so much that you decide to run up a quick heat pack because you don't have one and it's really needed, REMEMBER TO MAKE SURE YOU'VE TAKEN ALL THE PINS OUT BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE.

I cannot believe that I just did that.

(The microwave does still work, but it was a close-run thing there for a moment...)

This isn't funny, but duh: When I started painting a tshirt it never occurred to me to put something between the front and back...or the back and the ironing board. The letters aren't too pronounced but they're there on the back of the shirt. My darling husband wears it anyway.

Oh boy did I have a stupid craft moment yesterday.I was trying to bleach out a denim jacket to hand paint. So I put it in w/the whites.I took it out after it was dry.And the stupid bleach ate a hole the size of a coffee cup on one of the sleeves Angry. Now I don't know what to do with it. Cry.

Can you cut the sleeves off and still have something workable?
Bleach can be so evil. When I was a kid I dropped a butter knife in the Clorox bottle (I don't have any idea why I put it in there) and I couldn't get it out, so I left it. Mom found the remnants of the knife a few days later. It ate right through it!

omi...i am afraid of feet so if i bought a house with footskin i think i would have to refloor before i could eat in it....

my *silly* craft mistake contribution:

i have cut my fingers repeatedly with my rotary cutter, x-acto and scissors (and i apparently, i faint from cuts but not from blood donation?)

i cannot wear good pants when i sew, cos i inevitably cut into them when i am doing any cutting with scissors

once i used the wrong foot on my sewing machine for the stitch i chose (really, i stepped away and forgot i didnt change it) and my needle didnt break, it bent, but i couldnt move anything no matter how hard i tried (my machine has a safety) so i had to use wire cutters to remove the needle...and the project was ruined from all the drama

i stepped on my pincushion once and the pins went into my foot about an 1/8 of an inch..not bad right? 10 different pins that didnt want to budge (had to get out the pliers for this one)

i licked uncured resin....yea, that was awesome

and this one isnt crafty really, but i have silicone bake wear and i ALWAYS pick it up without heat protection...and when i put my stainless steel into the oven i often burn myself with that too (cos it has a handle and it doesnt look hot)

my best friend puts EVERYTHING in her mouth (i constantly make sure she isnt eating non food, cos if it smells good she wants to taste it....it is adorable though...one time she ate scent beads at Bed Bath and Beyond, and i sounded like her mom cos i kept telling her not to put things in her mouth and spit them out...then her bf wanted to taste them)
things she has licked that i made:
resin pendant with candy in it (some was sticking out, and it tasted like sprinkles apparently)
peppermint soap
candles
smelly good marker (didnt make it, but its craft related)
cupcake fragrance oil (had to make her wash her mouth out that time)

so yea, mine arent *bad* but i have alot of them, and i repeat them alot
